Conduit, cable routes, equipment racks, panel clearances, wireless access points, cameras, speakers, keypads, shade pockets and control locations compete with structure, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, millwork and lighting.
A coordinated reflected-ceiling plan and wall elevations help prevent late surface-mounted compromises.
Label, test, and preserve a service path
Concealed rough-in should be inspected, photographed, labeled and tested before close-up. Spare conduit and accessible pull points can be more valuable than guessing which future technology will be installed.
Turnover should include panel schedules, network and cable records, programming information, warranties and a practical support path.
